Continue with Chapter 1Back to overviewYou didn’t buy a program. You hired an employee. And he can do a lot more than you give him credit for today.
Realize what he has to offer. He brings expert knowledge no single person has, across every field: sales and marketing, ad copy and copywriting, math, numbers and analysis, law and contracts, tech and programming, layout and design, languages, and much more.
There’s only one thing he’s missing at the start: your company. Chapter 6 shows you how to bring him up to speed on it.
He gets things done. Not as a suggestion, but finished. A few examples to give you an idea:
Writing. Emails, quotes, letters, newsletters, ad copy, product descriptions, job ads, meeting minutes, reports.
Designing. Presentations with slides and a script, flyers and print files, graphics, images, visualizations, and renderings. He even edits your videos.
Building. Websites and landing pages, your own apps, forms, programs, and automations.
Marketing. Complete marketing plans with all the content, posts for Instagram and Facebook, and running, managing, and analyzing ads.
Calculating and analyzing. Cost calculations, spreadsheets, statistics, analyses of revenue, campaigns, or surveys.
Researching. Competitors, suppliers, prices, grants and funding, laws and regulations.
Organizing. Inbox, appointments, follow-ups, invitations and responses, travel.
Translating. Into and out of almost any language, in your tone.
And that’s just the beginning. The fastest way to find out what else he can do is to ask him.
“These are my typical tasks in a week: [list]. Which of them can you take over? Most important first.”
He thinks along with you. He’s your sparring partner. He asks the right questions, pushes back when something doesn’t add up, and comes up with better ideas. He makes you and your business better.
He shows you untapped potential. He doesn’t just see what else you could hand off, where time is being lost, and which opportunities are being left on the table. Above all, he sees how you can improve your processes, how to move your business forward, and where more possibilities are waiting for you.
Challenge him.
Brainstorm with him, whatever the topic. He has ideas, solutions, and strategies, and he knows how to reach a goal. So don’t just ask him for work, ask him for his opinion: How would you solve this? What am I missing? How do we grow faster? This is exactly where your greatest potential lies, and at the start, very few people use it.
You: Next week I’m presenting our new offering to customers. What would you do in my shoes?
He: Three suggestions: start with your customers’ problem, not the product. Show two real examples. End with a clear next step. One more question: how much time do you have? Then I’ll put together the flow and the slides for you.
“My goal for this year is [goal]. How would you reach it? What am I missing? And which of my tasks can you take off my plate to get there?”
We know what he’s capable of.
We work with him every day ourselves, and he keeps surprising us to this day. That’s why we’re convinced he can do an incredible amount for you and your business. More time, better results, new ideas. Now it’s about discovering that for yourself and putting it to use.
Imagine an employee with a hundred hands. At the start, most people use two or three of his skills and keep doing the rest themselves.
“Most of the hundred hands stay
in your pockets.”
This Academy has just one goal: to get you to take the other hands out of your pockets. With every hand you add, you’ll notice how much more is possible.
Do I need any technical knowledge?
No. If you can use WhatsApp, you can lead him.
What’s the best place to start?
With whatever costs you time every week and isn’t any fun. The task above will help you find it.
Is it okay to ask him a lot?
Absolutely. He never gets tired and is never in a bad mood. The more you ask him, the better he gets to know you.
Does he really know that much?
Yes, across every field. When it comes to taxes, law, or health, he prepares, explains, and drafts. You make the final decision, together with your advisor where needed.
Does he make mistakes too?
Yes, like any employee. That’s why you look over anything important before it goes out. Tell him something once, and he’ll get it right the next time. Chapter 3 shows you how.
Will he take work away from my team?
He takes routine work off your team’s hands. That leaves more time for customers, ideas, and everything that really needs people.
And what if there’s something he can’t do?
Then he says so and suggests how it can still be done. If he’s missing access for it, he’ll ask for exactly what he needs.
A hundred hands. How many of them are you using?
Read everything? Then complete the chapter.
That unlocks Chapter 2, and your progress is saved.
